Description
Beautiful classical porcelain biscuit sculpture, depicting a motherhood, with lady with color palette and brush, and child. Made by the very famous German manufacture of Scheibe-Alsbach, signed under the base with an engraved mark from the late 1800s. Clearly visible throughout the sculpture is the antique patina, also the material used is of the highest quality with a thick, firm biscuit with a porous and slightly crepe-like surface, not smooth and milky. There is no smudging on the sculpture, perfect plastic execution in the smallest details, from the woman’s hair, drapery, eyes, and mouth, to the fabulous hairstyle of the hair, combined with the beauty of the skirt that falls softly over the base and the expressiveness of the sleepy child, makes this sculpture unique and rare of its kind.
