Description
This is an Art Deco porcelain figurine from Hungarian porcelain manufacturer Hollhza. These imaginary characters were born from the pen of the Italian cartoonist Sergio Toffolo. The characters begin on October 28, 1917, on n. 43 of Corriere dei Piccoli with a series of tables composed of eight cartoons, each accompanied by a text in verse. The success was immediate and was published uninterruptedly every week until 1943, becoming one of the most successful comics of the period. After the war the publications were resumed, only to be gradually reduced during the fifties and sixties. In the seventies, the character was taken over by the designer Carlo Peroni.
