Description
Vieux Paris porcelain vase, pps. 20th century France
Exquisite antique vase in Paris Porcelain or Vieux Paris. The delicate hand-painted decorations based on gold create a rich and elegant set, thanks to the contrast with the white porcelain.
This piece was made respecting ancient traditions and the raw material (kaolin) by master craftsmen. “Paris porcelain” is a term that refers collectively to the various porcelain decoration workshops and studios in and around Paris. That is, it does not refer to a specific manufacture, but to the production carried out by more than thirty manufacturers within the limits of the French capital, from the mid-1700s to the end of the Second Empire (1870) approximately. Antique porcelain objects from Paris are the most desired by collectors and are present in many museums around the world.
