“The Painter’s Atelier” is an original print realized by Mark Kostabi in 2000. The artwork is hand-signed and dated. Numbered. Edition, LXIII/C. Mark Kostabi (b. 1960) is an American artist. He studied drawing and painting at the California State University. In 1982, he moved to New York, where he became an important figure of reference in the artistic movement of the East Village. In this period, he enjoyed the provocative use of mass media. His works were sold in Japan, the United States, Australia, and Germany. In 1988, he founded the Kostabi World, his gallery-study room in New York. This institution produced 1000 ca. artworks a year. His paintings always include references to other artworks and human figures without faces, outside the space-time dimension, reminiscent of De Chiricos mannequins.
