Description
A surreal composition by Polish artist Sawomir Lewczuk. Made in the technique of oil paints on canvas. Signed on the right side. The painting was made in 1985. In the background, there is a surreal landscape with a bright horizon. In the foreground, abstract objects, one in the form of a human head, the other cut in half with a visible long, pink thread leading into the background.
The artist’s paintings are full of symbols and images resembling people, often without faces. His paintings often contain references to his stage designs. The artist clearly draws on the achievements of art trends popular at the beginning of the 20th century and transforms them on his canvas, creating a unique work. The subject matter is reminiscent of the canvases of the outstanding surrealist Salvador Dali, or the precursor of surrealism, Giorgio de Chirico.
