Description

This beautiful original print is a typical work of the Meiji period by the Japanese artist Kobayashi Kiyoshika (Edo-Tokyo 1847 – 1915 Kyto). In I-oban format, it represents a combat scene during the historic Sino-Japanese war (1894-1895). The rendering of falling snow and fog are remarkable. Except for tiny folds and wear on the periphery, its state of conservation is very good.
