The Prison is a wonderful colored lithograph on paper, realized in 1971 by the Italian artist Marcello Ercole. Hand-signed and numbered in pencil on the lower margin. Edition of 100 prints . Marcello Ercole (1926-2020), present for a long time on the Italian and international artistic scene, starts his career in Paris, Bern and Rome where she trained by attending the studios of the artists of Via Margutta – elected as a city residence of many Italian and foreign artists – and Villa Strohl Fern – villa located within the park of Villa Borghese – where the likes of dCapogrossi worked, Melli, Cavalli just to name a few and which today is remembered as one of the places of the 900 artistic and, in particular, of the so-called “Roman school”.
