Description
Henri Courvoisier-Voisin & Pierre-Charles Coqueret signed. Colors print untitled View of Paris n12 From the Pont au Change, Notre-Dame and the Pont Marie took between the Pont Neuf and the Pont au Change. It represents a view of the Seine with boats sailing on it. Its crossed by two bridges on which we find riders, pedestrians and carriages. On every side, we recognize different monuments from Paris: on the left side, the Saint-Jacques Tower, on the right side, the Clock Tower near the Conciergerie on l’Ile de la Cit. Print signed Courvoisier del. At the bottom left and Coqueret sculpt. at the bottom right. At the bottom, next to the margin: Deposited to the bookshop direction. Framing with a pale green colour matting and moir margin. Moulded wood frame with black nets. Work realized during Empire by the engraver Pierre-Charles Coqueret (1761-1832) from a drawing by Henri Courvoisier-Voisin (1756-1804). It takes part of a set of 15 chiselled and acquainted prints colours of views of Paris and near surroundings, realized before 1830. Traces of time, minor brown tasks. Dimensions of the scene: H 41 x W 51 cm. A similar exemplar is preserved in Carnavalet Museum (Paris).
