In Milan in 1913, and trained at the Accademia di Brera (of which he later became a teacher), Adriano Gajoni was passionate about the study of the Lombard sixteenth -century painters and the Dutch and Flemish painting of the seventeenth century, from whose Minicious realism let himself be inspired. Of strict figurative observance, the Gajoni preferred the landscapes, the portraits and above all the still lifes, which expressed in fairytale and allegorical compositions. Above all, it practiced oil painting on wood and faesite. This dead nature recalls in the arrangement of the elements and in the composition with the curtain and the damask tablecloth, the ancient works, but pictorial and colors methods are proper to the twentieth century.
