Description
Oil painting on canvas. Signed at the top right. In Milan in 1913 and trained at the Accademia di Brera (of which he later became a teacher), Adriano Gajoni was passionate about the study of the Lombard sixteenth -century painters and the Dutch and Flemish painting of the seventeenth century, from whose meticulous Realism let himself be inspired. Of strict figurative observance, the Gajoni preferred the landscapes, the portraits and above all the still lifes, which expressed in fairytale and allegorical compositions. Above all, it practiced oil painting on wood and Faesite. This composition offers a group of texts, with an ancient taste, open in a disordered way on a desk, together with a piffer. The work is presented in the frame.
