Amde Ozenfant in 1915. The Drawing is the cover of the magazine L’Elan in Paris. Issue no. 4 of 1 June 1915 in some copies. Signature, good condition. OZENFANT, Amde born 15 April 186 in Saint-Quentin, Aisne, France; 1904, studied drawing at the Quentin de la Tour school; 1905-1913, arrived in Paris to study architecture and attended the academy of La Palette and Charles Cottet; 1913, married Zina Klingberg, Russian painter; 1914, war volunteer and reformed, works in the service of propaganda; 1915, founds the magazine L’lan, where he sketches his purist theory and which appears until December of the following year; 1917, meets Charles-douard Jeanneret who will become Le Corbsier; 1918, signs with it the manifesto of purism, entitled Aprs le cubisme; 1920-1925, directs with Jeanneret the 28 numbers of L’Esprit nouveau; 1925, replaces Lger at the Acadmie moderne; 1932, opens the academy Ozenfant in his villa of the avenue Reille, built in 1924 by Le Corbusier; 1936, moved to London and created the Ozenfant Academy; 1938, taught at the New School for Research in Seattle; 1939, created the Ozenfant School of Fine Arts in New York; 1944, naturalized American; 1955, returns to France, The Larock-Granoff Gallery, Paris, is the owner of the studio.The Larock-Granoff Gallery, Paris, owns the studio.
