Mermaid is an Original China Ink Drawing realized by Andr Charles Coppier (1866-1948). The little artwork is in good condition on a blue paper. No signature, included a white cardboard passpartout (23×17 cm). Charles-Andr Coppier , born in Annecy on November 17 , 1866, and died at Talloires onSeptember 30 , 1948, is a French painter , engraver , medalist and art historian . Andr-Charles Coppier is mainly known for his works as an art historian on Rembrandt and the artists of the 15th century, as well as his works of art on Mont-Blanc, Lake Annecy, and Haute- Savoy . Coppier is also the author of several other works, including the catalog raisonn of the engraved work of Albert Besnard . But it is above all his great mastery of engraving, described as “scrupulous and intuitive” by Gustave Kahn, which brought him to notice and raised him to the rank of the greatest French engravers.
