Description
ICeramic vase, lathe-worked clay, completely finished and decorated by hand, glazed with material glazes, full-bodied and compact, very porous, with a matt and crepey finish, made with a very particular process that makes the surface of the vase similar to a peel of orange, probably treated with acids. Made by the famous Giuseppe Mazzotti factory, Albisola, in futurist style, signed under the base “MGA” and with catalog number. Datable to the first decades of the 1900s. Consider that very often Diulgheroff signed his ceramic works only with the manufacturer’s initials, without adding his name. The proposed object, although small in size, is of the highest artistic quality and rare beauty, made with artistic processing techniques used only for the most important and valuable Futurist ceramics. The patina is also excellent, especially under the base.
The MGA factory was founded in 1903 by the ceramist Giuseppe Mazzotti.
