Description
The hand blown Sculpture depicts a pair of parrots poised upon twisted branches. The artist has represented the birds in an opaque dark brown glass decorated internally with gold inclusions and then encased in translucent applied glass. The sculpture is attributed to the celebrated glass artist and designer Alfredo Barbini (1912-2007) circa 1950, born on the islands of Murano. Barbini came from a family of master glass blowers and bead makers living and working in Murano for generations. Literature: The Martin Cohen Collection Final Chapter.
