Ohhh! Such a beautiful painting, assured and inventive, in a ravishing palette, 65 years old, flowing confidently from the great currentsof the last century (did someone say Picasso? :), but with its own winning charms.
Postma is an internationally-renowned artist who studied at Amsterdams National Academy of Art and began exhibiting in 1959. Between 197086 he was Professor of Painting at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art, Rotterdam, and in 1980 held a residency at Ohio State University in the USA. His work is in the public collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, MMK Arnhem, Gemeente Museum Den Haag, Stedlijk Museum Groningen and the Frans Hals Museum.
