Description
Beautiful painting of hay meadow scene by Jean-Baptiste Scoriel. Hay meadow scene, 1930, oil on board, 33 cm x 38 cm, signed and dated (lower right). Jean-Baptiste Scoriel, Belgium (Lambusart, 1883 – Tamines, 1956) Painter, landscaper, he practiced mainly oil painting. Over time, his palette is refined and brightened: Jean-Baptiste Scoriel manages to design a rich and tasty painting. J.B. Scoriel was an emeritus professor of great value who has trained a large number of future artists. Scoriel could realize, by simple means, vast landscapes. Its colors are Frank and its effects are very bright. His leitmotiv was to inculcate his pupils: “Simplify!”, repeated the teacher to his students during studies on the motive by villages, hamlets, in the countryside, on the banks of the Sambre, Biesme. He himself directly painted his studies on small panels, in nature, which he reproduced on a larger canvas in his studio. / Abcdaire of the painters of the Pays de Charleroi, Frdric Mac Donough, Labor editions, 2006/.
