The composition of the picture, enclosed in a lying rectangle, is dynamic. In the foreground is a hill with windswept grasses. On the right side you can see a fallen branch against the background of a tree with disheveled branches. On the left, a poor hut is visible from behind the slope. The gray clouds covering the sky seem to herald the imminent arrival of a change in weather.
The announcement of a change in weather is emphasized by the expressive technique used by the artist. Thick layers of paint are applied with quick, firm brush strokes and run in the direction of the imaged wind.
The whole is complemented by a brown, wooden frame with carved decorations with elements of ornaments – acanthus and regency as well as pearls.
