MAREK SAPETTO (born in 1939- 2019)
Marek Sapetto is a Polish painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He graduated in 1966 receiving diploma from prof. Bylinas painting studio. He has worked at the Academy since 1971: firstly, as an assistant at the Faculty of Painting and since 1990 as a professor. In the 1970s his art referred mainly to the trend of neo-figurative art. During the next decade, in the 1980s Sapettos painting became some kind of commentary on the polish socio-political reality. His works were exhibited, among other, in the Zachta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw.
