Description
Abstract Composition is an original colored serigraph realized by Mario Padovan in 1971 . Hand-signed in pencil on the lower right. Numbered in pencil on the lower left. Edition of 50. Good conditions. This artwork belongs to the artist’s series of Op Art . In the late sixties and early seventies, indeed, Padovan dedicated himself to experimenting with Op Art, which he essentially interpreted as a way to break down an image. Works referring to the graphic screens, collages, and reflections for the decomposition of the image all belong to this period. Born in Trieste in 1927, Mario Padovan lives and works in Rome. An eclectic artist, during his long career he has gained significant experience as a painter, sculptor, graphic designer, set designer, costume designer, assistant director and author of essays, articles and artistic information columns for monographs, newspapers and magazines. He eventually became a critic, becoming a member of the Association International de Critiques d’Art (AICA). Starting from a classically figurative painting, he went through different artistic experiences, giving rise to cycles of works that fit into the most significant artistic movements of the second half of the twentieth century.
