Description
Amazing rustic Black Forest wall mirror from the late 19th century in Austria. Elaborately processed around 1880 this rural mirror shows a very unique design. The hand carved basswood frame in the manner of tree branches with protruding corners shows a beautiful large carving at the top center. Stained in a very dark brown tone, the frame is additionally adorned by noble, gilt inner bars which complete the fantastic look of this antique rustic mirror. An impressive and decorative piece of a late 19th century Black Forest mirror.
Replacements made: the mirror glass has ben renewed during restoration. Wear consistent with age and use.
