This is a small antique seamstress’ button box. A Japanese, brass decorative tin, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Delicately crafted box with wonderful colour and detail
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout with minimal tarnishing
Fine brasswork displays warm golden tones with silvered beading to lid edge
Decorated with relief cast foliate and bird motif to great effect
Interior lightly time-worn with remnants of original silvered finish
