Probably, circa end of the 1970s Marked with his signature The Cycladic idol – a fertility-enhancing object – has enchanted him from the moment he discovered it. Its form resembles the pot form and both share a carrying, protective quality. Since 1960 he signed his work with an engraved idol added to his signature. Since 1963 he signed his work with just this idol-seal. A small piece of information about his work: Married to Johnny Rolf in 1907 Started in Amsterdam in 1958 1958 First exhibition at van Meurs in Amsterdam In 1969 A prize “De Porceleyne Fles” at “Contour” in delft The measurements are 6.6 cm high and 10.3 diagonal The fabric felt on the bottom is left on for protection.
